7 Questions to Ask Your Wedding Coordinator
Every planner defines “Day-of Coordination” differently, and packages vary widely across the industry. Make sure you understand what is included, what you need, and what you’re paying for.
Here are some important questions to ask:
1. “How many hours of coverage do you include on the wedding day?”
A wedding day can easily turn into a 16-hour shift. How many hours are included? Do they stay for clean up or handoff?
2. “Do you help develop a timeline, or do you only work with the one I provide?”
A strong coordinator will build, refine, and align your timeline with vendor contracts and catch potential issues early.
3. “Do you take over vendor communication, and if so, when?”
Your coordinator should review contracts, become the main point of contact, and communicate with vendors so you don’t have to.
4. “Is rehearsal coordination included?”
Clarify this upfront so there are no surprises later.
5. “Do you bring an assistant? And do you offer set up assistance?”
Coordinators often act as the lead in set up and logistics. Ask what level of support is provided.
6. “If we need extra planning meetings before the wedding, what is your hourly rate?”
7. “Do you offer any extra planning resources I should know about?”
